Current Weather and Road Conditions

Hi Mountain Lookout is approximately 60 minutes from San Luis Obispo. The road to Hi Mountain is maintained, but is subject to closures due to inclement weather, and requires a creek crossing.

Unfortunately, the lookout is currently closed due to the ongoing Coivd-19 pandemic.

However, visits to the area around Hi Mountain Lookout are encouraged. Please check weather conditions before driving, and contact the Santa Lucia Ranger District for information on road closures.
